Surfing is seriously not easy.

Xinru finally managed to stand on the board and rode some waves after 2 hours of gulping liters of sea water and fighting with the waves.

Those surfer dudes really have my respect.

Nonetheless, nothing beats a day out at the beach -

Minus the muscle sores and fatigue.

phewwww.

Love the train system in Sydney (:

Dinner that night after skydiving was at Sienna Marina.

It was a must-visit for us after hearing about the raving reviews.

(Not to mention me having the urge to celebrate after jumping out of a  plane!)

Located just beside the world-famous Finger Wharf at Woolloomooloo, Sienna Marina offers a charming, laid back and  genial dining experience.

AND YES, the traditional Italian pizzas are to die for! (:

super special(haha, what a name!) pizza entree, wagyu rump steak in redwine jus and linguine marinara mains. Finished off with a good classic creme brulee PLUS my usual coffee to wash every thing down.

What a life.

(:

The heart was pumping furiously and the skin was cold and clammy. Beats of perspiration were forming on the forehead. The once inflated ego was now no where to be seen or heard.

I was hopelessly alone.

Gotta run through the SOPs once again.

Altimeter check, parachute check, all ready.

Green Light.

Time to go.

Doors open.

Gush of cold winds attacked my face brutally.

Step Out.

Cursing and Swearing.

Why in the world am I doing here 14000 ft above?

Breathe in, breathe out.

Fear was trying to overwhelm me.

Not.

Step Out.

Feeling the full effects of Gravity.

Ahhhh, first hand experience and a new understanding to the term

- gravitational acceleration.

Wonderful experience, majesty views.

And a new found hobby.

The feeling of being alive has never been so prevalent up till now.

They said flying was great,

I say wait till you jump out of an airplane.

(but who in the world would jump out of a perfectly fine plane?!)

Thankfully, I had the chance to do both and still live to tell the tale.

One more item to be checked off my list of to-dos-before-i-die!

(:

A definite must visit place for everyone whilst staying over at Sydney is none other than the….

Sydney Fish Market!

Freshly shucked mouthwatering oysters, sweet and exquisitely prepared mussels in white wine, platter for 2 – fit for a king to be precise!, ambrosial barbecued seafood kebarb sticks…

Basically seafood prepared in every possible way ever.

Still, I prefer mine raw with its natural sweetness and the taste of the sea (:

Ahhh, totally in love with Sydney Fish Market.

Paradise City… Market!

Is 18 oysters in a day too much?

x:

Oyster High wins alcohol induced courage hands on!

(:  (: (:

woohooo.

Sydney Day 6 (:

Day 6 was spent on the roads(quite literally) and on the mountains.

Blue Mountains to be precise.

I suppose being around nature has always been an integral aspect of being me.

Mother Nature has this soothing and calming effect I guess.

Being at peace with yourself.

Leave nothing but footsteps and take nothing but memories away huh.

I wanna do nice wedding shots at Sydney too! (:

whambamdelicious authenic pies and hotdogs by the bay to end off the night.

Sydney Day 5

Day 5 was spent doing the all time favourite conventional tourism -

City Tour.

The famous sights around Sydney.

Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach…

Spectacular views.

Massive amount of people.

peoplefromthemotherland

They’re everywhere!

YES, even in oz-land.

Not that I have anything against them in the first place.

Just that things can get a lil frustrating when they gather around.

You get that gist.

hahaha.

ANYWAY,

Dinner was at Nicks by the harbour.

Food, ambiance and service were things you could never find in Singapore.

In fact, great would had been an understatement.

Cool sea breeze, fresh seafood and a stupendous view of the harbour.

Live.

Breathe.

Eat -

Seafooooood!

hahaha (:

Do look forward to the fisherman’s wharf post people.

You’ll understand why Xinru is so crazy about seafood thereafter (:

(:

Sydney Day 4

Sydney reminded me of Singapore.

The multi-cultural aspect, the international crew and the busy bustling streets.

Exploring the city on foot is definitely the way to go (:

Every street, every corner has something that will bound to surprise you.

(MINUS the never ending slopes. shsss)

Taking a different route back to the backpackers every night gave me a new insight to the city of Sydney.

Isn’t it the same as Life?

A new approach,

A new view,

A new way of seeing things.

Ahhh.

If only things were as simple as Black and White.

Then again, there is always a choice isn’t it?

(:

Day 3.

Some friends of mine have asked me why i chose to do backpacking instead of the conventional tours and packages offered by tour companies.

The reason is simple.

I get to see the country from my own perspective instead of being spoon fed with details from guides.

The good, the bad and the dirty.

Day 3 was spent roaming around the streets of Adelaide and getting souvenirs for family and friends.

The sun really looks different depending on which spot of Gaia you’re standing on.

There is a new-found sense of peace whilst walking down the sidewalk of rustic colonial buildings in a foreign land.

Breathe in, Breathe out.

Cool, crisp air.

No one knows you.

No one cares.

For a moment the role of being a son,a family member, a guide, an instructor, a friend, a lover was being erased.

Self-romancing was omni-present (:

Day 1 & 2

Greetings from Adelaide! (:

Once again I’m impressed by the power of Technology.

Thousand of miles out and I still can blog and upload photos with the ease equivalent to a snap of my fingers.

Ahhh, such a love-hate relationship with her.

(im still getting my emails abroad. arghhh.)

Nonetheless, life has been great thus far!

I mean, how bad can it be when I spent the entire day drinking at barossa valley?

Alright, enough said, let the photos do the talking.

AND OH, i swear im so not gonna seat next to a kid on any of my future flights.

YES, no doubt they are cute and chatty the first time you get to know them…

BUT, it is not a good sign when they’re still awake and full of energy traumatizing every single adult( YES, me inclusive) in the vicinity at 4 am in the morning.

Nasty lil bast**ds.

The clear blue skies and white pocket of clouds literally stole my heart and breathe away.

Minus the super expensive asian food.

2.43 aussie for a nissin cup noodle anyone?

Laid-back, slow paced lifestyle.

And for once I’m a tourist, not a guide. hahaha (:

If coughanlicough

i meant-  if xinru can cook, so can you!

Early morning trip to Barossa Valley!

Kiddos at play.

Scenic lunch spot filled w good OZ bbq food.

Not forgetting my hot dutch lady.

hahaha x:

Picturesque landscape.

Lush green vineyards with the mountain backdrop and the blanket of clear blue skies.

5 wineries in a day.

Sweeeeet.

And a penchant for jumpshots too (:

Off i go again!

Have not been updating my blog recently because I am tired out the moment i reach home from camps/being overseas/events.

I have quite a fair bit to write but i guess it’ll have to wait till I’m back from OZ.

YUP, xinru is finally flying off tomorrow!

AND of course all this could not had been possible without the help of Tay An Li (:

Thankyoooou! (: (:

Shall buy more flour and eggs and pack them inside your cake package!
