Phuket 2011

Back from Phuket, Thailand! (:

Phuket presented me with the darker side of tourism and how the society operates on a whole. Vice, prostitution, the apparent lack of feminism, scams, commercialization; hedonistic lifestyles to be precise. It was…saddening and opened my eyes to many lessons and issues that can never be learnt through the mass media or text books per se.

On the flip side of the coin, it was a simple trip made together with the JC clique. For once, it was for leisure instead of it being work related. Cheap beers, overwhelming amount of tomyamsoup, green curry and mango sticky rice to recharge the weary souls. Not to mention the endless haggling, bargain hunting and rows upon rows of counterfeit goods.

Phuket, I’ll be back. (:
